Hydro Jetting Drain Services: 7 Reasons to Book Today

Blocked drains are more than an inconvenience. If left untreated, they can lead to costly repairs and ongoing plumbing problems. Fortunately, hydro jetting drain services, also known as high pressure drain cleaning, offer a fast, safe, and eco-friendly solution to even the most stubborn blockages. Drain Surgeon provides this service across South Africa for both residential and commercial clients.

What Is Hydro Jetting and How Does It Work?

Hydro jetting uses a high-pressure hose and precision nozzle to force water through your plumbing system at up to 8,000 PSI. This powerful stream removes debris, fat build-up, mineral scale, tree roots, and more. A CCTV inspection is conducted beforehand to check the pipe condition, making the process tailored and safe.

When Should You Consider Hydro Jetting?

• Water draining slowly from sinks, showers or bathtubs
• Persistent unpleasant smells from drains
• Noisy or gurgling drainage systems
• Recurring toilet or kitchen sink blockages
• Water pooling near outdoor drains

Drain Surgeon offers both emergency blockage clearing and preventative jetting services to suit your schedule and location anywhere in South Africa.

Benefits of Hydro Jetting Drain Services

Thorough Internal Pipe Cleaning

• Hydro jetting doesn’t just open a hole, it scours the entire pipe interior. This deep clean helps prevent future clogs and maintains pipe integrity.

Environmentally Friendly

• This method uses only water, with no chemicals, making it safe for your home, plumbing system, and the environment.

Effective on Most Pipe Types

• Suitable for PVC, copper, cement, and cast-iron systems. Pressure is adjusted based on pipe material and condition.

Prevents Costly Repairs

• By clearing the full blockage and residue, hydro jetting reduces the need for frequent callouts or future pipe replacements.

Ideal for High-Traffic Businesses

• Restaurants, hotels, shopping centres and clinics can all benefit from regular high pressure drain cleaning to avoid service disruptions.

Is Hydro Jetting Better Than Snaking or Chemicals?

• Yes. Snaking only punctures the blockage. Chemical cleaners are harmful to pipes and the environment.
• Hydro jetting is a comprehensive, non-corrosive option that offers longer-lasting results.

Can You Perform Hydro Jetting Yourself?

• No. Hydro jetting requires high-pressure professional equipment and expert handling. Attempting this as a DIY job can cause pipe damage or personal injury.
• Drain Surgeon’s certified plumbers use specialised tools and safety checks before every job.

Why Choose Drain Surgeon?

• Hydro jetting available nationwide in South Africa
• 24/7 service for urgent blockages and inspections
• CCTV camera inspections included with service
• Trusted plumbing brand with decades of experience

How long does it take?

• Residential jobs usually take 1–2 hours. Larger or commercial systems may take longer depending on complexity and pipe length.

How often should I get it done?

• Homeowners: every 18–24 months. Commercial kitchens or hotels: every 6–12 months for preventative maintenance.
